Panagiotis Roilos Appointed as President of the European Cultural Center of Delphi

Faculty Associate Panagiotis Roilos, George Seferis Professor of Modern Greek Studies and professor of comparative literature at Harvard University, was recently elected president of the European Cultural Center of Delphi, a major cultural center in Europe, which functions under the auspices of—and in collaboration with—the European Council and the Greek Ministry of Culture. The mission of the Center is "to support exchanges of international cultural interest and to promote the common cultural values that unite the peoples of Europe through the advancement of scholarship on European culture and initiatives such as conferences and cultural events." Roilos succeeds Professor Hélène Ahrweiler, a major academic figure in Europe.
