Against the backdrop of the global chip war and the issue of South Korea's national sovereignty, this lecture explores the quite ironic history of semiconductor development. The semiconductor industry played a crucial role in advancing technology from mechanical to electronic industries, but it found its catalyst in an unexpected place, i.e., the United States' defeat in the Vietnam War. Based on hear latest publication, "The Global Chip War and the National Sovereignty," soon to be published in English, Minister Park presents how the past, present and future of the weaponized semiconductor industry.
