Spring 2022, Volume 36 Number 2

The spring 2022 issue of Centerpiece highlights recent activities at the Weatherhead Center. Director Melani Cammett shares important Center news, along with personal news, in the Message from the Director. Graduate Student Associate (GSA) Andi Zhou writes about the connections between maps, homelands, and sacrifice in our first feature, "Who Fights for the Homeland?" We sat down with recent GSA alum Angie Bautista-Chavez for an interview on "The Journey to Professorship," which details her experiences as a first-generation college student at Harvard to assistant professor at Arizona State University.
