Abstract:

Right-wing populism is ascendant in much of Latin America. Although Brazil is the most prominent case, signs of a right-wing populist revival are evident in countries as diverse as Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, and Peru, and Uruguay. What drives right-wing populist turn in Latin America, and what are the consequences for democracy?
