Abstract:

Dr. Shettima is the Director, Africa Office of the MacArthur Foundation in Nigeria. He was trained as a political scientist at the University of Maiduguri, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and the University of Toronto. Before joining the foundation, he taught at the University of Maiduguri, Ohio University, and the University of Toronto. He is also currently a visiting professor at Yobe State University. He is on the board of several civil society organizations.
