Matthew Desmond, the John L. Loeb Associate Professor of the Social Sciences and Faculty Associate at the Weatherhead Center, recently published Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City. Told through the stories of eight families in Milwaukee's poorest neighborhoods, the book details America's extreme poverty and economic exploitation, and offers new ideas to solve this crisis.
