Summer Travel Grants and the Undergraduate Associates Program

For Harvard undergraduates only.

The Weatherhead Center holds an annual competition to award fifteen to twenty travel grants to support the summer field research of Harvard undergraduates. These grants are designed to help finance travel in connection with senior thesis research on international affairs. All grant recipients become Undergraduate Associates of the Weatherhead Center for the academic year following their summer research and present their research findings at a conference organized by the Center in February of their senior year.

Study Groups

For Harvard undergraduates only.

The Weatherhead Center encourages the formation of focused study groups and other educational opportunities for Harvard undergraduates. Harvard International Relations on Campus (IRoC) coordinates the study groups and helps determine topics of discussion.

Student Conference at the United States Naval Academy (NAFAC)

Harvard undergraduates concentrating in the social sciences and interested in learning about issues in US foreign and international affairs may apply to participate in the annual Naval Academy Foreign Affairs Conference (NAFAC) in Annapolis, Maryland, along with other undergraduates from all over the United States. Harvard International Relations Council (IRC)

The Harvard International Relations Council (IRC) is the undergraduate student group on campus that serves as the principal liaison between the Weatherhead Center and Harvard undergraduates. The IRC promotes awareness and understanding of international affairs among undergraduates through a variety of programs, some of which involve close collaboration with the Center and its fellows. The Center provides the IRC with funds for these events.
